Jeff A. Harrison has been an attorney and litigator for over 30 years, graduating in 1990 from the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law. For the first seventeen years Jeff was employed in private practice, where he specialized in business litigation (specifically against public agencies), discrimination and harassment litigation (plaintiff’s side), and representation of small and large entities and public agencies as general counsel and special counsel. During this employment, Jeff was solely responsible for the litigation handled by the firm and oversaw litigation, as well as day to day legal matters, on behalf of various public agencies. Jeff’s experience is in both state and federal courts and his litigation experience has included several jury trials taken to verdict.
After being in private practice, Jeff represented public agencies, in-house, handling all day to day legal matters, overseeing an in-house legal department of several lawyers, as well as the activities of a multitude of law firms (large and small) representing the public agencies on a wide range of topics.
Since 2010, Jeff has acted as either co-counsel or lead counsel on dozens of significant civil rights cases including matters under both Title II and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. These cases have encompassed a wide array of public accommodations including hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, hospitals, office buildings and studios, as well as cities, colleges, libraries and parks throughout the state. Jeff has successfully litigated jury and court trials in state and federal courts, as well as at the appellate courts.
Jeff is a member of the Disability Rights Bar Association. In addition to his work at The Harrison Law Group (formerly Metz & Harrison), Jeff is proud to be a member of the Legislative Committee of Californians for Disability Rights and is honored to be a member of the Board of Directors of Triumph Foundation for the last six years, where he currently serves as its Treasurer.
